"I.C.U EP," the fourth release for Katharsis Recordings, is relased as the debut EP by Sabatoj, a close friend of label founders, Masafumi Take and Kannabi.

As the name express, the production of this work has a root in a hospital room, based on Sabatoj's experience of wandering between life and death by an accidental bicycle accident. As Sabatoj says, he was influenced by his hallucinatory experiences during delirium induced by morphine and laughing anesthesia. The two downtempo tracks full of a floating, trippy feeling that makes you feel as if you are flying to some distant place.

For the remix of this powerful analog synthesizer-based track, Mike Parker, revered by many techno artists for his iconic analog sound, and label owner Kannabi, who released a solo EP on Katharsis in June worked on production at their studio. In contrast to the two storytelling originals, Mike Parker has transformed into a more abstract, experimental, irregular beat track, and Kannabi into a track with a slightly faster BPM and more atmospheric elements.
The artwork for the cover was painted based on his own accidental experiences by artist ARIKA as on the previous album. The mastering was done by Thomas P Heckmann, who has been produced many legendary acid sounds to the world.

"Katharsis Recordings"にとって4作目となる本作 ”I.C.U EP” は、同レーベルのファウンダーであるMasafumi TakeとKannabiに深い親交があるSabatojによるデビューEPとして発表された。
作品名の通り、Sabatojが不慮の自転車事故によって生死を彷徨った体験を基に病室で製作が始められた本作品。笑気麻酔によるせん妄中の幻覚体験の影響があると本人が語るように、浮遊感がありつつもどこか遠いところに意識が飛んでしまいそうなトリップ感溢れるダウンテンポ・トラック2曲が仕上げられた。

また、アナログのシンセサイザーをベースに製作されたこの強力なリリースのリミキサーとして迎えられたのは、アイコニックなアナログサウンドで多くのテクノアーティストから敬意を捧げられているMike Parkerと、6月にKatharsisよりソロEPをリリースしたレーベルオーナーのKannabiの2名。
ストーリーテリングなオリジナルの2曲に対して、Mike Parkerはより抽象度の高い実験的な変則ビートトラックに、そしてKannabiは、BPMを少しだけ早めて、よりアトモスフェリックな要素が強いトラックへと変容させた。
本人の事故体験をベースに製作されたジャケットのアートワークは、前作に続いてアーティストのARIKAが担当。また、マスタリングは数多くのアシッド・サウンドを世に送り出してきたThomas P Heckmannが手がけた。
