  Katharsis Recordings, a techno collective based in Tokyo, has announced the release of their 3rd EP entitled "Landscape Perception," by one of the label's cofounders, Kannabi.
  "Landscape Perception" features a powerful bass line that serves as the foundation for an ever evolving variety of sounds painted on top, leading to unexpected destinations. "Mt. Ishizuchi" is a unique work that combines off beat rhythms and organic sounds with meticulous changes to create a unique unchartered atmospherics. The B-side includes a remix track by Japanese psychedelic techno pioneer DJ NOBU alongside with Masafumi Take. On "Mt. Ishizuchi (DJ NOBU Remix)," with powerful kicks and the vivid synth sounds become scenic and mentalist at the same time. "Landscape Perception (Masafumi Take Remix)" is a repetitive synth arpeggio that never gets old and has a unique break that makes it a techno track for the dance floor.
  The psychedelic artwork, with its strong shading, was created by Japan-based artist ARIKA, inspired by the grand nature of Shikoku. A region associated with label owners Kannabi and Masafumi Take. Mastering of the tracks was carried out by none other than Tobias Freund, a legend of modern techno.
  Katharsis Recordings is reinvigorated after a five-year period with the next release album #004 already planned for later this year. Keep an eye out for their upcoming activities this year.

  東京のテクノシーンの一角を担うコレクティブ"Katharsis Recordings"が、カタログナンバー#003となるEPのリリースを発表。本作はレーベルファウンダーの1人であるKannabiによる"Landscape Perception"と名付けられたEPだ。
  "Landscape Perception"では勢いのあるベースラインを基調に、多様なサウンドが変化を繰り広げて想像のつかない展開へと繋がる。"Mt. Ishizuchi"は、変則的なリズムと有機的なサウンドが絡み合い、それぞれの緻密な変化が唯一無二の空気感を創り出す作品だ。B面にはリミックス作品が収録されており、日本のサイケデリックテクノのパイオニアであるDJ NOBUとMasafumi Takeがリミックスを担当している。"Mt. Ishizuchi (DJ Nobu Remix)"では、キックはより力強くなり、鮮烈なシンセサイザーのサウンドがより情景的に脳を刺激する。"Landscape Pereption (Masafumi Take Remix)"は、印象的なシンセアルペジオが反復するが、決して飽きることない展開とユニークなブレイクを持った現場仕様のテクノトラックに仕上がった。
  力強い濃淡が描かれたサイケデリックなアートワークは、日本を拠点に活動するアーティストARIKAが書き下ろしたドローイング作品。レーベルオーナーKannabiとMasafumi Takeのゆかりの地、四国の雄大な自然からインスピレーションを受けたという。マスタリングは革新的なモダンテクノ作品を輩出してきたTobias Freundが担当した。
  5年という時を経て再始動するKatharsis Recordingsは、次作#004のリリースも控えており、今年の活動にも注目してほしい。
